Deborah Gordillo, the Creator of the DATZ Music System, taught music theory, ear training, and counterpoint at the Mannes College of Music in New York City for 27 years before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada. She continues to teach private students and group classes both locally and online.

I was Saint Patrick’s Cathedral’s Composer-In-Residence for eight years, during which my commissioned works were performed in venues such as Yankee Stadium, Carnegie Hall, and throughout New York State and at The Vatican. This appointment was the result of winning a blindfolded national competition to compose the New York Archdiocese’s Bicentennial Hymn.
I am grateful to have performed with, or served as a studio pianist for, incredible musicians who include: Opera Las Vegas, Vegas City Opera, members of the Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Las Vegas Philharmonic, and Montreal Philharmonic; violinists Gil Shaham, Sally Thomas, Shirley Givens, Dora Schwarzberg, and Barbara Krakauer; cellists Yo-Yo Ma, Gary Hoffman, and Timothy Eddy; singers Nico Castel, Antonia Lavanne, Thomas Cultice, Leona Mathews, and Peter Elkus; and flutist Marco Granados.
My career includes performing and recording with vocal ensembles as alto section lead for the Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Choir, Park Synagogue Choir, and the William Appling Singers.
